Khul Bushan Goswami was around ten and just beginning sarangi when I met him at the house of his father Bharat Bushan Goswami in Lakshmi Nagar, Delhi, in 1993. When I last heard—sometime in the late '90s, he had passed an All India Radio audition with the rank of B Class.

We have two examples of his playing at the age of 15 from a visit  on May 31, 1997. After a false start , I suggested that he tune the sarangi. There was some talk with Khul's father Bharat Bushan Goswami. A tabla player arrived. More tuning. He started with a madhya-lay bandish in rag Todi. The adults got lost in conversation and Khul went on practising scales and paltas. The tabla rejoined briefly. Then Khul started at the beginning with a quite tuneful alap after which he resumed the bandish. After this, he had a warm up in Shri Rag.

He then played Shri rag from the beginning. Alap was followed by a popular jhaptal bandish. The rendition ended with fast tintal:

This was technically impressive, considering that Khul was mainly occupied with school studies and was not particularly into practicw at the time. (2025) There is no trace of him performing on Youtube, so perhaps Khul gave up sarangi.
