Ghulam Ali is the son of Tajuddin Khan, a Sufi singer and harmonium player. He learned sarangi from Wazir Hussain Khan, a very special sarangi player who I spent time with in the 90s in Delhi (see Wazir Khan's page on this site). Ghulam He is identified with the Sonipat-Panipat gharana of sarangi, which is distinguished by the use of all four left-hand fingers.
