Dishad Khan is the nephew of the great maestro Sultan Khan. He learned sarangi and vocal music first from his grandfather Gulab Khan and then from his father Nasir Khan and then with Sultan Khan. Like his cousin Sabir Khan, he has been active in film and fusion music and has accompanied the tabla wizard Zakir Hussain, and he can be a serious classical musician.
