Aneesh Mishra is the foremost disciple of Kanhaiyalal Mishra of Kabir Chaura, Varanasi. I met him when filming for Growing into Music in Varanasi in 2010. He features in my Growing into Music film "The Guru-Shishya Parampara: Kanhaiyalal Mishra and his Students", practicing sarangi, receiving instruction and talking about his unlimited positive regard for his guru, notwithstanding his guru's somewhat harsh disciplinarian approach to teaching.
