
Wahid Khan is the son of Dildar Khan in Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh. He learned sarangi, tabla and vocal music from his father. Wahid Khan's lineage includes grandfather Chand Khan, great-grandfather Chahan Khan and great-great-grandfather Chote Khan.
When I met him his playing seemed rather like lesson-recital in many ways. He benefitted from the expert tabla accompaniment which his father provided.
