Harsh Narayan (b. 1985) is the grandson of the maestro Ram Narayan by whom he has been taught. His father is the sarod player Brij Narayan. Like that of his aunt Aruna Narayan Kalle, his playing is nearly a carbon copy of his hrandfather's style. But he also brings omething new and personal to the music—some different sensibility and sensitivity. He performed together with Ram Narayan at the 57th Sawai Gangharva music festival. In 2016 his solo album Scintillating Sarangi was published by Times Music. Qoting his own website: In December 2019, Harsh received the “Shanmukha Sangeetha Shiromani Award” by Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha. He was conferred with “Akhil Bhartiya Pratibha Puraskar 2019” in Delhi by Arts & Cultural Trust on India and ‘Ustad Adbul Waheed Khan Sanman 2018. More recently he received the prestigious SNA’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2020.He has toured the United States twice and won numerous other awards. For more details see his personal website.
